#1 - Meta - Introducing the Sourcebook-- and the Game
In a world parallel to our own, few recognize the supernatural nibbling on the edge of their world. Daemons and other unnatural creatures stand unopposed across this world-- except in a sleepy college town. Here, the descendants of a long lost civilization awaken to a powerful legacy, and the tide in the war begins to shift.
Blessed with the ability to manipulate the elements, these Hunters push the supernatural back to the fringes. But on a warm August day, everything changes. A band of Hunters open pandora's box, drawing hoards of daemons to their town, each seeking a prize lost since prehistory.
This artifact of purity, walking the world in human form, was once guarded by a group of powerful women. And now that its safety is threatened once more, the heirs of these Guardians have awoken. Cursed with physical changes that may impair their mission to find and protect the artifact, many of the Guardians must face former companions who view them as little better than Daemons themselves.
The world is changing, and if the Hunters and Guardians have any hope of changing the tide once more, they need help. So join us for an adventure you won't forget!
Introduction to Kingdom
Kingdom is an original collaborative fiction project, seeking to accommodate multiple platforms for storytelling. To put it bluntly— if you want to tell a story using stick figures? Go right ahead. Typical stories are roleplayed out on our game’s forums, talk::Kingdom. If you are confused by our storytelling system, please read the article here. Our genre is Heroic Urban Fantasy, or as Kol likes to put it: HeroesxSailormoonxAvatar xRandomLegendsxComicsxBtVS. And then some.
The intent behind the sourcebook is to create a stable document applicants and readers can peruseto gain both an understanding of the world Kingdom takes place with and all about the game itself. To accomplish this, we split the sourcebook into three sections.
Meta: for topics about the game, such as how the stories are run, where to find information, and common 'terms' we use in the game.
Hunters: for topics about the not so average folks running around using 'magic' in a fight against the supernatural.
Guardians: for topics about the protectors of the Purity Princess, even if they don't know here identity. This group understands not everything supernatural is bad, and some of it must be protected if the world has any hope of surviving.
