University of California: Sunset City

The Halls

  • Grayson Hall:  Grayson is home to the Social Sciences, but hosts many overfill classes for other departments, particularly Science classes. For a week in April 2008, Grayson Hall mysteriously closed.
  • Ritchie Hall: aka Richmond Hall. Ritchie is home to the Humanities and English departments, but like Grayson, also holds many overfill classes, including Archeology.
  • There are 15 Halls on campus.

Housing

The University features four dorms and the usual assortment of fraternities and sororities. Most of the greeks are holed up in crumbling old Victorians, fanning out around the edges of the campus.

The dorms have a reputation for being in similar disarray. Each of the four dorm buildings were built in different eras and, to make matters worse, are scattered about the campus seemingly at random. There is a healthy rivalry between the dorms that often erupts in silliness, particularly before finals.

For plot simplification, the majority of the Hunters room at the Haystacks, which is arguably the best dorm thanks to being right next to both a parking lot and a Starbucks.

The Haystacks

Haywood is the oldest and creepiest dorm on campus and, mostly for plot rational, can accommodate any undergraduate student who wishes to room there. Beside a parking lot, it is reasonably close to Grayson Hall, and at all times of the year there are groups of students outside on the lawns, which are criss-crossed with concrete pathways. As one of the 'bricks,' the Haystacks features ivy growing all over it. It was remodeled in 2005 and is one of only two dorms to offer air conditioning. The floorplan resembles a distorted, four story 7. Wing A faces the campus, and at the eastern point the side parking lot. There is a small connecting wing featuring a dim staircase and a small common room, and then the Wing B runs parallel to the parking lot and a stretch of grass commonly utilized for impromptu games or, on occasion, BBQs due to an ancient BBQ pit to the side.
